Originally from northern New Mexico, Karl has lived in Colorado for over 16 years; he now lives in Boulder with his wife, son and German Sheppard. Growing up in the mountains, Karl developed a passion for the outdoor sports of hiking, rock climbing and backcountry skiing, as well as the art of landscape photography (www.visionsofcontrast.com).

Karl's interest in the power of both Asian and Western Medicine was propelled by a pivotal healing experience as a child. At the age of four he developed a debilitating growth disorder, owing to the combination of treatments of both Asian and Western medicines, Karl fully recovered by the age of twelve. This experience propelled his intellectual pursuits: first a degree in Biology at the University of Colorado, and subsequently a Master of Acupuncture degree from Southwest Acupuncture College.

To provide the highest quality service, Karl has received extensive training in sports medicine acupuncture, trigger point therapy, traditional Chinese and Japanese acupuncture, as well as western medicine. His treatments include acupuncture, Asian bodywork, moxabustion, electric stimulation, cupping therapy, and lifestyle recommendations.
